It slept quietly for being such a big intimidating creature. It was for that reason that he just wasn’t sure if they were the only two living creatures sleeping there or if there were many more. Stan couldn’t even be sure which direction its face was, if it was on its back, stomach, or sleeping on its side. It was just too dark. He was as blind as could be and there was nothing he could do about it. He just didn’t dare feel around and risk waking it up. Then he had another thought that was unsettling. When will it wake up? These things weren’t like human beings. It was likely it would be waking any time because weren’t these things suppose to be nocturnal? He decided to risk stepping out into the darkness. When Stan stood up he felt slightly dizzy and that caused him to feel around on the back of his head and he was surprised to feel what he thought was moss stuck to the back of his head. When he tried to pull some of it away it hurt and he came to the realization that his head was or had been bleeding at some point and the moss had become dried into the blood making it stick to his head.
