Oddly she didn’t scream. Her dropping down low in the truck seat coincided with the lightning strike so her father just chalked up her behavior as a reaction to the lightning and thunder. “I don’t remember you being so sensitive to the thunder.” He said. Dolly answered. “Just took me by surprise is all.” However in her mind she was wondering if she should tell her father? They had heard some strange stuff coming out of the forest in the past. Everything from the sound of a woman being killed, or at least her screaming bloody murder, to howls which can only come from wolves, coyotes have a very different call they make and it wasn’t coyotes making that howling noise. They had roars which none of them could identify. It was just part of living near a forest. Especially one as big as Mark Twain. A lot of people do not respect the whole aura that surrounds a national park or forest. These are the places where it does not get any more real. The animals are completely wild. They will react violently if you attempt to touch them. The predators will act like predators have done since the beginning of time. No wild animal has a clue they live in a park or national forest. They only know they live where they live, which is in the wild. Even a deer or especially the bigger elk, mule deer or moose, can kill a man easily. next page | |
