Meantime the creature was taking its time coming out of the river. It hesitated in the water where the depth was at about its shoulders, and dipped its head under the water. When it brought its head back up above the stream it shook its head from side to side and then began to climb out of the river. The creature was massive even soaking wet. The muscles under that long hair or fur, were rippling and completely intimidating. When it came completely out of the water it towered over my father and great uncle. There really was no place for them to go. Well not my uncle anyway. He was too old to be climbing up where I was headed. About two more football fields worth of climbing up that somewhat gentle slope was where it leveled off and a person could follow the terrain back to reach where we had parked. I was about half way up when I turned back around to see what was happening. next page | ![]() |
