| My father and Uncle Claude had moved closer to each other and further away from where the creature was likely to exit the river and now were keenly watching the big hairy ape-like beast as it methodically made its way out of the water. It easily traversed the smooth river rocks which were so very hard for a human to walk across. Not once did it start to fall or even appear to have taken a mis-step. When it was finally out of the water completely a mini-waterfall cascaded down its wet, shiny mostly black fur onto the dry rock below its big feet. Both my father and Uncle Claude moved even further away from it while at the same time I could see their heads tilt upwards as they looked at the creature from its feet to its head. It had a face that was amazingly like a human. The exception being I don’t think it had any white around its eyes. They looked like small black marbles inside that big head which wasn’t round but it reminded me of the more modern football helmets only it was taller in the back than the front. The arms really stood out because they were so long compared to a human. I would say proportionally they are about a third in length longer than a human being. I don’t know if it could actually but it appeared to be able to scratch its knee without having to bend its upper torso. next page |  |
