About the second week of Oct 2016 on a steep hillside on some property on the outskirts of Branson Missouri Stan Heintz was out behind his property doing some squirrel hunting when he fell and hit his head. It was an overcast day that threatened snow and the air was heavy with moisture. The ground already had a couple of inches of the white stuff which meant if more fell it was certain to stick. These were perfect days for hunting. The sun wasn’t out so you didn’t get blinded, and the snow allowed for following footprints much easier than tracking something through the mud or dry dirt. Stan had been walking along the top of ridge that had about a thirty foot drop to the next spot along the hillside that you could hope to catch you if you slid down the hillside from the top of the ridge. Which is exactly what Stan did. Sadly by the time he had come to a rest the damage had been done. Stan had hit his head and the result was he completely blacked out. next page | |
